New Google Maps is Available for Preview

Google Maps desktop version has been neglected for awhile, and Google is bringing a complete redesign to spice’n things up. The first thing you’ll notice is that they have removed the sidebar, and instead have a simple search bar in its place. It is now completely full screen and when signed into a Google account it’ll remember the 3 most recent places you’ve searched, and adjust to your personal preferences as you use it more. There is also a lot more location details, with integrated social features from Zagat for the latest reviews and pictures about your favorite restaurants. It’s also fully integrated with Google Earth, however this is exclusive to the Firefox or Chrome browser, and will not work for Safari as of now.

To test it out yourself head over to Google Maps and enable it on your Google account. Or head over here to request an invite.
