I’ve recently come across a ton of keychain or mini cables for the iPhone, that aim at solving the problem of always having a charger with you in the minimalist way possible. I want to compile a list of the options available and share my opinion on each.
As stated previously, this is not the first of it’s kind, but it’s a very sleek keychain charger for the iOS device available in Lighting or Micro USB. With battery issues being at the forefront of power iPhone user, always having a cable with you is somewhat of a must. Lighting Cable for iPhone 5 available for $39.95. Although this product looks very well made and minimal with a sleek design, the price tag is a little steep and there are better valued options out there.
The next is the Kero, which is one of the first small Lighting iPhone cables available, and is similar to the above, but has a simpler look not as strong as body. However it’s only $24.99, and solves the problem that most of these keychain like cables aim to fix.
Trunk, takes a different approach, in solving the problem of having a tangled cabled around your work station. Trunk is a short, posable charging cable for your smartphone. Unlike the short, flaccid charging cables on the market, you can bend Trunk vertical to charge on the wall, bend it the other way and use GPS in the car, or straighten it out and put it in a pocket when you’re on the move. Although it doesn’t have a keychain, it’s only $19.95.
The final one is still in the fundraising stage, however it offers the cheapest option at $17+$5 shipping, for a short cable. It’s So if you wanna jump on the fundraising side, it’ll give you the cheapest option but you can’t get you hands on this one right away.
Let me know what you think or which one you’d choose.
